Today I set about completing week 4, I have to be honest I didnt want to! Had to drag myself out of bed at 6am despite being awake at 5am with the intention of going out that early.
The last run wasnt easy and I felt stiff and could have just curled up and stayed in bed.
Thankfully I didn't! Got my kit on, fired up the tunes and the app and headed out.
Decided to take my own advice and after the warm up walk and a few stretches I just ran a bit slower than usual, the first 2 mins flew by and didn't even get out of breath. First 5 mins was a little tougher towards the end but no thoughts of stopping. The final 2 minute run was fine the only thing I noticed was how quickly the walk felt before the final 5 minutes run of the day ππ
The final 5 minutes last time out was brutal, I was a mess and really wanted to stop! Today however I felt fine and as Steve Cram told me I was half way a funny thing happened... A massive smile and I started speeding up! I wouldn't say a sprint but I certainly powered through those last couple of minutes and let out an audible YES! at the finish line, I really felt good π
Fingers crossed this continues into week 5π€π» (I see you looming week 5 run 3 ππ)
Have a great day and happy running!

Fantastic! The power of a smile to lift your spirits and power your feet πIf you find a run difficult it can be really helpful to yell out 'This is great, I've got this' (provided nobody is around lol), it always energises me and gives extra oomph. Plus, I feel so ridiculous I'll burst out laughing, which also helps π
Thank you! I used to often do literal LOL's while running, podcasts and audio books used to cause me to get some funny looks π and the coaches on NRC of cause, often very funny! A smile and a laugh during your run really does help ππ»
Well done! Remember finding week 4 the hardest last time, proportionately itβs probably the biggest step up of all weeks. I completed week 2 today, which wasnβt without drama either!
Brilliant! It's W4 for me starting on Monday and I am already dreading the 5 minutes! Weirdly, my first run this week for W3 felt my best... the other two were just hard work! I need to work out my breathing; and slow down a bit. I'm not fast by any means but I think I set off too quickly and then find the subsequent running sections hard going. I'll try to remember your post when I set off next week!
Well done on bringing Week 4 to a close in such great fashion!!
I found out during C25K that every run is different - even if it's the same path, same distance, same pace. Just get the trainers, get out the door, and do it!
