So yeah!!! Finally after 3 attempts I’ve got here W8R2. It’s been an incredible journey.
I stopped smoking (again) 2 months and half ago, stopped alcohol (again) 3 months ago and focussed in a better diet + spreading my meals and tons of water!
First run 8th June. I had Covid one week and thought I would fail again but I kept focused.
I’ve been running one day after the other including weekends since then.
My pace 9:45km/h. Still not quite there but improving.
Incredibly haven’t had any injuries and did proper warmups focussing on my knees.
Going on holiday on Tuesday and scared I will not finish my last week. I usually end up partying a drinking quite a lot and do all the things you should not do and then stop the healthy life that was so difficult to achieve.
Let’s see if I can focus this time and not get carried away during my holidays in the sun.
At the moment tomorrow W8R3.
happy running to everyone!!!!

🍏🙌👍 I take my hat off to you!! So well done!! PLEASE pack your running shoes & enjoy some running while you are away. It’s fun sometimes to run in a different place just because you can! You are close to your goal now & it’s taken a lot of effort & hard work! Enjoy your holiday & come back and graduate. We are waiting to cheer you on to the finish line 🏁☀️
I agree! My favourite runs are when I'm away and it's somewhere new to explore and I give myself permission to stop and admire the scenery. I even bring my running shoes to festivals and get the day off to a good start- I run very slowly, which apparently releases cannabinoids, so feel festival vibes in natural and safe way 🤣🏃♀️➡️
Well done for getting this far. Running on holiday is great if you 're near somewhere suitable.
One question, are you saying that you run every day? It's generally not recommended for beginners, you need rest days to allow your muscles to recover. Running causes microtears in the muscles, when they heal they grow back stronger. The healing takes place when you are resting.
Over exertion, especially in the early days, is a really good way to hurt yourself and nobody wants that.
Good luck with the last runs, looking forward to hearing you've graduate
Hi there!!! No, no. I don’t run every day. That’s how I’ve got hurt on my first attempt.
I meant, I follow the plan. One day run and one day rest but I’ve included weekends. So haven’t had a weekend without running. Some weeks are 4 days others 3 days. I just meant this.
Many thanks for your advice though.
It’s my 3rd attempt and the good one.
By the way, I just finished W8R3 and was a hard one with this heat.
Sorry, I misunderstood your post. It's so easy to get carried away when C25K is going well and you're starting to really get into running. Sounds like you're not going to let that happen this time
Well done for keeping going when it's this hot, it's really tough!
