I went on a 5 mile walk yesterday and got home with a blister on my toe to the right side of my nail. Today was the day for my next run (W5 D1) and the blister isn’t painful so I vaselined it and went. On getting home the blister has gotten bigger and now I have a small one the other side! Still not hurting though thankfully unless I poke them 😅
Could this just be that I’ve been on my feet too much or are my running shoes/socks to blame? My next run is now likely to be Friday or Saturday and I don’t particularly want to not go just because of a painless blister.
Thanks!

Have you got proper blister plasters? They worked well for me.Socks are key too. I highly recommend Balega Hidden Comfort. They might look pricey but I'm still using a pair I got 3 years ago and haven't had a blister since 😁…
Thanks for the advice! I suspected it may be something to do with that as I use normal socks for running. I’ll see what deals are about on amazon prime day 😄 thanks again!
Runners toe nail happens a lot on further distances!
It can happen, yes, but I'd hate people to think that nail injuries - or blisters, come to that - are inevitable. I've been running over four years, including one trail marathon and a few HM distances, and I've yet to experience toenail problems. Maybe I'm lucky, maybe I just have weird feet.
I am all for the call for running socks! What a difference they make...
I have diabetic neuropathy in my feet, so do see a chiropidist every couple of months just to keep an eye on things. No issues and I've been out running for six month, now.
Thanks for all your replies! I cut my toenails yesterday and the blister is going down lovely. As said above I’ll definitely be looking for some prime deals for blister running socks and hopefully that will eradicate the issue. Thanks again!
