Huge congratulations Spiritoffire. It sounds like your calf needs some TLC. A good Sports Physio will tease out the knots and should give you an exercise routine to both aid recovery and help prevent a recurrence. I have been running for six years now and still need to pay attention to muscle loosening post run.
Been going to physio for about 12 months for lower back issues (improved by C25K 👍) so added calf to the list and it definitely helped as did 15 min ice pack after Monday run.
Appreciate your advice and will do more stretching as part of cool down.
