Week 6, run 2 with demons

Lovely day for a run and 10 minutes twice shouldn’t be that hard. My last run felt tough with tired legs so I made sure I was really well hydrated today.

Set off deliberately slowly and tried not to check my watch but this little demon in my head boggled till I had a wee peek. Not too bad but slower than I have been doing after first ten minutes. Legs still felt a bit tired too.

Time demon still niggling me at the start of my second ten minute run and I try to stay slow and steady like Steve tells me. Felt easier running and I tried to enjoy the run and my surroundings. As I reached the last 3 or 4 minutes I remembered my grandson, then 5 yrs old, doing a 3k run with his mum last year. We were spectating and watched him bouncing round with a big grin of enjoyment and telling his mum to speed up and lift her feet higher to go faster! Not sure if he was technically correct but remembering his sheer joy inspired me. I managed to finish my run with ease and faster than expected. Bring on 25 minutes next run 😊

Well done you... ! Beautiful photograph.... :) Those pesky gremlins, they work so hard to try to upend us!

Luckily they really do not run well and you found a super way to leave them standing! Slow and steady really does work for so, so many of us.

On you go!
