With a very busy time at work meaning I had some whole week gaps, and a couple of 20 minute runs to build my fitness back up, I have finally reached the end of week 8.😊 It was a struggle though so I think I'll repeat today's run before moving on to week 9. I'm working towards a 5k run for life at the end of May. I might manage it!
Finally finished week 8: With a very busy time... - Couch to 5K
Finally finished week 8
🍏🙌 I think you will manage it for sure!! Once you complete week 9 give yourself permission to do 2 easier runs (3k & 4k) and one 5k run a week.. It takes the pressure off but still keeps you fit to go get that race! Our brains & bodies respond better when we mix up the training before a race! Oldfloss has given some sage advice here! Do read it!
Huge well done to you... slow and steady is the way.... and just be kind to yourself. Your runs, your way... pop in some core strength and stamina work too. Loads of ideas in pinned posts on this forum and the strength and flex forum too!
The Race for Life events are huge fun..no pressure, a great feeling of camaraderie and no pressure for speed You will get there !
Congratulations on finishing your tough run-those ones show us what we’re made of! Sometimes runs are just like that. It’s always ok to repeat if you want to, although I’ve often found when I’ve had a difficult run, the next one is great! Take it steady and see how it goes.
Race for life events are lovely. Wishing you well with your quest for 5k. I’d just focus on finishing couch to 5k first, then seeing where that’s got you to in terms of distance. Everything you’re doing as part of C25k will be getting you ready. Good luck with your final program runs!
You'll be grand
