Looking forward to week 4

I've read here that things kick up a notch week 5. Well, having just looked up what awaits me tomorrow for W4R1, that also seems quite a big step up from what I did in week 3. Curious to see if I've got 16 minutes running in me 🏃‍♀️🙏🤪

You’ve got it! You completed week three (congratulations!) so you’re ready. Love the attitude of wanting to find out what you’ve got in you. Couch to 5k will show you you’re capable of so much more than you think! Enjoy!

I'm debating at the moment whether to repeat a week 4 run as don't feel ready to step up to week 5, should I just go for it?

I've only done the first run of week 4. Was a bit of a shock to the system and don't feel I ran it with any kind of style. That said, I did complete it. I'm hoping runs 2 and 3 feel a tiny bit better but, if I finish them in any fashion, I will go for it week 5. We may surprise ourselves and if it doesn't feel OK, we can always chose to repeat week 4 at that point. The folk here really trust the process. Let me know how you go 😘

Go for it. Repeating week 4 will give you no useful information (it's still exercise of course and building the habit, so not useless)

One of the key learnings we all have to acquire to become regular runners (rather than boom and busters) is a tolerance of the natural ups, downs, blips. Some runs will feel harder than others, sometimes it really won't work at all, even the course of one run can be a roller coaster.

So long as you maintained a running motion (however slowly) through the running sections and a walking motion (however slowly) through the walking sections, you're good.

What makes you feel unready ?

I found the last run of week 4 hard and had to push hard at the end to finish.

OK. That suggests that you probably going a little too quickly during the earlier segments, and that you'd 'run' (sorry) out of puff. Try slowing down to a nice easy, comfortable jog - a pace at which you can easily chat at - and you should be fine.

Good luck!

Just finished W5r1 and it wasn't too bad, no worse than last week really, I kept really slow and finished it!
