I'm 67, have a bad hip, first stage hypertension, am overweight (though have lost 10kg !) And am as stiff as a board. I had a complete knee replacement 18 months ago.I've started simple stretching today, with a view to continuing daily. This is a prelude to commencing an exercise routine, probably at least a month before I try to do convention fitness.
I exercised heavily from the ages of 25 ISH until my late 50's.
But retirement at 60 (mistakenly) led to a complete vegging out. Subsequently I'm quite shocked how stiff, unfit and weak I am.
This is my own fault and is, to a degree reversible.
My diet is mostly ok and food is not my main problem, I'm not prediabetic and at my last drs appt, my Dr expressed the view it's unlikely I will be diabetic.
Hopefully I can reverse to some degree the stiffness and problems, caused by my sedentary behaviour.
