Hello Folks, I'm restarting again for 2024. Doc has mentioned pre-diabetic after some recent blood tests, so really need to reverse the trend!!! I've started the Second Nature programme on the NHS Weight Management Plan and been running Mon, Wed, Fri mornings for last 2 weeks but didn't go out this morning as it was -5 and didn't want to slip and do myself a mischief. It's still brassic out there and I was in 2 minds should I go or should I stay? Popped on here to see what the natter was about, and I'm spurred on by runners old and new. Will be donning my gear and heading out at 4pm for Wk 3 R1 x

🍏So well done! When one has almost decided not to go & then a change of heart usually results in a wonderful run. Hope yours was just that! Keep in touch! We love these stories.

Fantastic that you've started. If you watch your diet and keep running it really, truly can reverse the prediabetes. My husband got the same news as you back in early summer. We cut out all the sweets and nibbles (we were both already running) and his last test was back in the normal range.

well done for getting going. We all have our “moment” when we realise we are no longer 20 and invincible! Mine was the threat of a knee replacement- I’m terrified of hospitals which is mad as I work as a health professional - but I lost 4 stone and run regularly now - too scared to stop. Good luck and hope you have a healthier 2024
