My favourite 4k route has been somewhat soggy over the past few weeks... So, instead of my 4k runs, I've been concentrating on improving my uphill running, starting with my 2k and 3k runs. The incline is the last 10 minutes of my runs, so I've found it challenging!
Last week, I managed to achieve my 2k and 3k runs including running all the uphill bits! It never fails to surprise me how quickly small improvements can be made. I'm keeping it low and slow.
Today, I worked out a new 4k route, and still managed to run those inclines at the end. I finished in 32 minutes, which is hopeful for a 40 minute time at my next 5k official timed run coming up in March. I'm also hoping that by then I'll be able to run my favourite 4k route again... weather depending!
