30 mins but slow.

Well , second or third time I've run 30 mins but had to stop at least once. I never stopped while I was listening to Steve. The amount of coughing suggests it is the cold weather that's doing it. May try shorter runs but more of them. See how it goes. Anyone any other ideas?

Maybe you're running a bit quicker than you used to? Guaranteed way to tire yourself.

The important thing is the running, not how fast you go. Try a guided run from an app like the Nike Running Club (NRC). It gives a lot of guidance so you're more likely to keep your pace where it should be. A lot of us love having our coach telling us how well we're doing, whilst at the same time helping us to be better runners!

Quite a few of the NRC guided runs emphasise starting out slowly and concentrating on getting your breathing and pace right. When we run alone the sheer pleasure of being out running can make us (or rather me ;) ) start way too fast, which means I very soon run out of steam. It's all about making the most of the body we have to enjoy our runs without damaging ourselves.

Good luck :)

🍏Hi Basil .. such excellent advice from Yesletsgo just to add, sometimes when it’s cold 🥶 we run faster than we think or should …. Make sure you really warm up well before going out…

Good advice above, and I’ll just add that the NHS suggests you get a cough that lasts longer than three weeks checked out. Just keep an eye on when yours started and when it ought to have gone by. None of us are medical experts here and it’s important to remember to seek real like, qualified advice for health issues like this.
