Week 6 Run 2

I woke this morning with a little aching in the upper body and hips, I had an assessment with a private trainer yesterday evening and I'm not going to lie, it was a good workout.

The plan for this week is to keep to Monday and Wednesday for R1 and 2 and then do R3 on Saturday morning (with a gym session thrown in for good measure on Friday).

As part of the assessment the PT had me do a Cooper Test, I've done them before BUT I normally do them at the beginning NOT about halfway through so I struggled a little to maintain the pace I wanted, I didn't stop, I completed the full 12 minutes but fall into the poor category (for now).

Back to today, I jumped on the treadmill and set off on the 2 10 minute jogs and it was a hard one.

Nothing to do with it being an interval run or the length of the running periods, I ached more than I thought I did.

I pushed on and completed both 10 minute segments and then, while listening to the radio during the warm down walk I realised it was taking a little longer than I thought it should have; so I checked my phone and who would have guessed it, the countdown was stopped at 1:20 I believe it was.

10 runs left, looking forwards to the 25 minute jog to finish off week 6, I'm aching a lot more now so I may even bump that until Sunday, let's see how I feel.

Happy Running everyone.

🍏You seem to have it all under control Lee. However don’t ignore those warning pain signals Good to take extra rest if you need it! You will run all the better for it!
