Forgive me VRB for I have sinned

It's been 3 days since my last confession, today I attempted W5R2 but the devil made me do it.The little angel on one shoulder was telling me to stick to the plan but the pesky little devil on my other shoulder was telling me to ignore him.

That devils smooth, silky voice cajoling and scheming.

I succumbed to temptation, I ignored the plan, I didn't slow to the 5 minute walk, I plodded on.

Strangely enough, my longest jog this time around was 8 or 10 minutes and my HR was only around 4bpm more after jogging for 21 minutes.

I'm off to church later for an exorcism.

Please don't be too harsh in your criticism, I know I've been naughty 😔

Please note: I've done the program several times (including earlier this year), I am NOT either advising or recommending anyone does this.

Happy running everyone.

You’re a grown up. You’ve done the programme before. It’s totally up to you if you want to run for longer.

We always recommend to people doing the programme for the first time to trust the programme and stick to the timings to reduce their risk of injury but we’re not on the business of harsh criticism here.

I've edited my original post in line with the comments in your post.I do not advise anyone else does this but I posted it because that's what happened on my run this morning.

As you've done it before more than once you are well able to know how it feels and whether it's safe to run for longer, so only a little sin 😊

I accidently ran 3 minutes longer than I should have on week 7. I was not struck down with a bolt of lightening or plagued with locusts (well not yet anyway). Maybe because I did it due to stupidity rather than intentionally!!

(We used a watch to time the run rather than take our phones out strapped to our arms in the rain. I looked on-line at the wrong week for the timing, set for 28 rather than 25!!)

Hi Lizzie, the first couple of times I did the program I followed it strictly, without fail, I may have broken one or two time limits when I did the program earlier this year but nothing major.

This time round I'm going faster, by about 25%, and I've never completed the program at this pace, in fact, in the past when I've done the program this pace is the pace I was just managing to hit after completing the program and running for several more weeks/months.

I suppose it helps losing 7 stone but I'm pushing my boundaries, not trying to break myself just seeing what I can do with that weight gone and my stamina, etc, up as it currently is.

Wow!! Seven stone, that's amazing. A friend of mine lost some weigh a while ago and measured the weight loss in equivalent bottles of fizzy drink. She said being a stone heavier was like carrying around 3 x 2L bottles of fizzy drink wherever you go. So you were effectively carrying 21 x 2L bottles. No wonder you are finding it easier to run!!

I started the C25K after a comment "We middle-aged fatties must stick together" was made to me. I knew I had put on a bit of weight but did not realise that's how I was viewed. I was shocked when I weighed myself and worked out my BMI so that kicked me into action. However, I later found out my scales were inaccurate and I was just over a stone less than they said. I was only a little over my OK weight. Cutting chips, crisps and sweets, plus the extra exercise was enough to lose what I needed to but I found that hard enough.

This is my first attempt (well other than having reached the end of week 3 and spraining my ankle and then starting again). I tried to stick to the rules but must admit I am a bit lax when it comes to stretching after. We usually get back, the grab the dogs and take them for their walk and plan to stretch after but often forget.

I've never thought of it in terms of bottle of fizzy pop, I do remember a program that showed people how much weight they'd lost using blocks of lard, that would be interesting to see.

I've always been fat, even as a kid, I've tried just about every kind of diet there was and, apart from a high protein low carb diet I did about 7 years ago, noting worked.

Even on that diet I only dropped around 2.5-3 stone.

I started a Keto 'style' diet towards the end of January, I restarted C25K shortly after that after not running for a while; the Keto 'style' diet turned into a strict Keto diet, which then kind of morphed into a Ketovore style diet which turned into a more traditional Carnivore diet, one I'm mainly still following.

I eat in a 20:4 style, fast for 20 hours and eat what I'm going to eat in a 4 hour window, I don't overly count calories, my 'aim' is to eat between 1800-2000 with a 70/25/5 split of fats, protein and carbs.

I found the Keto and Carnivore diets so easy to follow, it really doesn't feel like I've been dieting at all.

Due to work commitments I completed the program earlier this year and then had to stop running but I did take every opportunity to walk.

As the work commitments eased off a little and I was able to work from home more I restarted the program.

I've always loved jumping on the treadmill, ever since I bought my first one off of eBay nearly 20 years ago (cost me £61.11 and I had to do a 100 mile round trip to get it), I'm now on my 3rd one, not sure if I'd want to be without one.
