Forgive me joggers, for I have sinned...

.. it has been 3 days since my last jog: do I need to repeat week 5 run 3 or can I just go onto week 6? It's the longest I've gone without a jog since I started the course but I've been doing heavy work on my house and woke up in pain all over yesterday, didn't think it would be a good idea to jog when feeling that much pain.

Oh its only 3 days, I think I would try W6, you can always go back to W5 if you need to. As long as you are not in too much pain to start with from all your muscle wrenching! Good luck and let us know how it goes x

I don't think one extra rest day is a problem, and it sounds very wise after waking up feeling stiff from all that hard work. Go for W6R1. It's intervals rather than one long run, so probably easier than going back to W5R3. Having said that, a number of people have commented that they found it harder than W5R3, mainly because they were expecting it to be "easy" after the challenge of 20 minutes. So keep it slow and steady, but give it a go.

In my experience it should be absolutely fine. I was forced to go 5 days once, and it was a bit tough, but still managable to pick up where I left off.

Good luck, and enjoy!

This is now the case, I've been prevented from being able to go out for my first jog of week 6 for 5 days now, really worried I won't be able to do it. I'm hoping to be able to do it tomorrow after the physio but before anyone else can make demands on me.

You haven't sinned Philholly you've just taken an extra day off. Don't go backwards you won't need to, you may even find you run all the better for the little extra rest. :)

I'm only on week 3 at the moment but, even so, I find an extra rest day or two can sometimes be beneficial. You know best how your feel so be guided by your own instincts. Good luck with your next run. Best wishes.

Well, it took me a week but I finally started week 6 and was surprised (as I have been throughout this course) that I could do it, especially after the break

I don't understand why it was 5/8/5 jogs with 3 min walks, seems to be a step backwards after doing 20 minutes, but mine is not to question why, I have complete faith in the course, it's got me this far.
