Week one done.. again

well I’ve completed my first week finally. Not as bad as I thought.

Did it on a treadmill so don’t hate me.

3.0 incline and 5.5 at fast walk and 8.5 on my runs.

Had to redo the week again as I started and then got a chest cold then started again. Thought I’d just start from the beginning again. It’s a marathon not a sprint. Ha ha…

Well done to you Icouldntrunabath on running week 1 of C25K for a second time on the treadmill, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to at any time, onwards and upwards, I love your username, I am sure you can run a bath and will be able to run all the runs and weeks of C25K.

Hear, hear. I do all my runs on a treadmill - I live such a mountainous part of Wales that road running is beyond my ancient knee/hip capabilities!

goodness! I’ve done CouchTo5k a few times but always run at about 6.5km\hr. I think 8.5 is pretty good going!

I am in awe of anyone who can co-ordinate themselves enough to run on a treadmill. I am so clumsy I know I'd fall off 😆 sounds a great option for navigating the worst of the winter weather!

Well done you. It doesn't matter where or how fast you run. I've started from the beginning several times over the last nine years, and will have do do it all again in the spring when the doctors give me permission and that doesn't matter either. All that matters is the fantastic difference it makes to your health and demeanour, both physical and mental. The mental benefits will start to kick in immediately - long before the body stops creaking and complaining! My first time around, I could hardly walk the day after each run, but my brain was racing. I'd never felt so wide awake in my life. Keep running and keep telling us how you're getting on.

I don't think anyone is going to hate you for using the treadmill! I did the full 9 weeks on mine before venturing outside as it was over the winter and I didn't want to fall and I still use it when the weather is bad. My treadmill is a very simple one without automatic inclines so it was flat running for me - a bit of a shock when I started running round the village!! Good for you for running inside or out, we're all cheering you on your C25K journey.

Treadmills are fine - I use one all the time. 8.5km running is fast by my standards! I am like Carras1982 and slow jog at around 6.5km so you are Speedy Gonzales compared to me 😮

Well done, onwards and upwards.................

I’m not sure where you’ve got the idea that anyone will “hate you” for running on a treadmill here. This is a really positive, supportive community and we’re all about people running in whatever way brings them the most happiness and works for them. No hate here- except for the injury couch! We all hate being on that!!

I used to have a little celebration at the end of each week-it’s never too early. Roll on week 2-you’re ready for it! ❤️💪🏃‍♀️
