Second run of week 8 completed and feeling good

I was woken up early this morning by the sound of a car being pulled onto a breakdown truck. I did think 5AM was a bit early to be making that much noise in a quiet residential street. It looked damaged so I guess someone had an accident and parked it in our street out of the way. It was not there when I went to bed last night.

There was no point in trying to go back to sleep so we got up and stated out run early. It was bl**dy cold out there this morning, 4 degrees apparently and the thin jacket I have been wearing to run it did not offer a lot of insulation. As warmup walks go, it did not do what it says on the tin, I was still freezing by the time we started running. Luckily there was no wind and so once running I started to warm up a bit.

I do find the cooler weather better for running. When I started the C25K the first time it was during the heat wave in the summer and I found that hard. the run went really well, no dodgy legs at the end this time. We do have rather a long walk home once we have finished and I started to feel cold towards the end which I am sure is not too good for me.

With a change of shoes and a warmer coat, it was then off to walk the dogs.

One more run this week and its then on to the final week, I am quietly confident about it now but maybe I should not tempt fate.

4 degrees is, at least, three shirt weather for me; a technical (sweat wicking) under layer, a long sleeved running shirt and then either a warm zip up top ( so I can unzip if I feel too warm) or, if it is raining, a waterproof top. The walk home is the worst part for sure!
