What should I do this Sunday morning? Stay in a nice warm bed and catch up on much needed rest or go out in the icy rain and run about? Great decision Alan I thought as I successfully negotiated the hazards associated with donning man tights.
As it was cold and wet I decided my long sleeve winter running top was needed as well as a lightweight rain jacket which I hadn't seen for quite a while. Needless to say I couldn't find it so ended up with my heavy duty rain coat.
Upon opening the front door I began to question my wisdom as the rain was much heavier than anticipated and felt very cold.
Today's run was going to be a 2 mile recovery and my purpose was to ensure I ran easy. Midway through the run though I knew I had overdone my wardrobe collection as I felt I was slowly poaching myself. Yet again my glasses steamed up and I had the dreaded wet feet. I really don't like wet feet. Is there such things as waterproof running shoes?
It ended up being a successful run. Controlled and steady. Result.
Even better was arriving home to be greeted with a hot bubble bath. Sometimes having a wife can be really rewarding π€£π€£π€£.
It would be great if she could also knock up some sausage sandwiches whilst I have a soak but better not push my luck ππ

Waterproof socks are good. It was a lot warmer out there than it looked. I was going to remove my Waterproof jacket but couldn't be bothered to fight with it while running.
Great stuff some days are like that easier to keep in stay warm but you did the right thing and now how good it must feel to know you did it I have three runs left this week to complete c25k so onwards and upwards weβll done
Well done Alan for braving the elements, I find it always feels like it's an extra achievement.
I have a pair of gore-tex trail running shoes but not sure if the same is available in road shoes, I too have just been putting up with wet feet in this wonderful uk weather.
