Fed up with myself... turned 50, gained a good two stone and. Never been a real runner. So here goes wish me luck 🤪🤪🤪

You are in good company! Don’t worry, we’re all willing you on :) there are some great resources via the Admins and Mentor here. Start slow, go steady, keep going- you can do this! You may even enjoy it! 🤞🏻

I am the same age as you and since March 2017 have lost 12kg through sensible eating, completing C25K and keeping up the running after I graduated. Prior to this I had almost zero discipline when it came to exercise and hadn't done any since I left school (when I avoided PE like the plague). You have to make the effort, but C25K provides the platform and structure. As countless others say on this site "if I can, you can". I still remember W1R1 when I puffed my way between walks. Now I CHOOSE to get up early to fit in runs of at least 6k three times a week and I don't even avoid hilly routes either. Just take it one day at a time and don't give yourself any excuses to cling to. I do wish you the best of luck!
