Hi I completed my first run today, was my first bit of exercise for about 10 months!
Does any else get pains in their shins?

🍏🎵Welcome to the forum and to running!! Try and keep your runs really slow 🐌 You will breathe easier, enjoy them more and avoid injury. Let us know how the next run goes!
Hi, The first time I tried C25k I had to give up because of this. I ended up in agony with shin splints. This time around, I ran much more slowly (you should always be in control of your breathing) - a slow jog is ideal, speed you can always increase later. Wear good shoes, I had been running in a pair of ASDA trainers. Not good. And as people suggest too, warm up and warm down exercises. And even Strength and Flex on non run days. Lots of great tips on this site to read. So take it easy, enjoy it, you will come to love it If it gets worse, ease off a bit and then try running on grass instead of roads. All the best!
I got loads of aches and pains when I started C25k, but they all seemed to clear up in time for the next run. Bound to be a bit of soreness whilst your body gets used to the new activity. I deliberately kept things really slow. Hope the pain disappears quickly.
