Just started this week could hardly do the first run and just walked it but finished the session. Week 1 run 2 I smashed it with no stops. I slowed my run down and breathed a little bit better did anyone have the same in the beginning.?

Yep! I absolutely thought I was gonna die in week 1 and 2. I've just done my first 30 minute run this morning, so you WILL get there. 💪

I think many of us have found that first walk to be the most challenging. Well done and keep going.

OMG Yes! First 2 or 3 weeks I could barely breathe. Found I was spending time actually counting steps in an attempt to make it to the end of 60/90 seconds,

Then started focussing more on breathing. By week 4/5 had got that more under control.

I graduated yesterday. I'm snail pace, and still focus on breathing (and less on my pace).

Keep at it - it will start getting easier. Good luck!

Thank you and I found that out too deeper breaths made the second one easier

I have only just started week 2 but, I think as long as you push yourself each time that's a good thing.

I am planning on keep going after the 9 weeks and keep pushing myself. I am currently rehabbing my lungs somewhat after covid in march so I am nowhere close to where I was before hand. But my level of fitness was very good for someone with my level of asthma and I think that kept me out of hospital.

So everyone working on their fitness, go for it as it really does make a difference.

I have asthma to hopefully it will get better while doing this xxx

I found running is great for my asthma. Getting a good rhythm with the breathing really does help. You just have to push a bit but not so much so you set it off :)

And don't worry if some runs the numbers don't look as good as sometimes other factors like pollen or other triggers can limit you. And go careful when the weather gets colder as cold air can also be a trigger.

I’ve just done W1 run2 and found it so much harder! My calves were so tight I had to keep slowing to a walk. I hope the next one is better!!

Well done Couchpotato45, Run 1 was tough, but I think everyone finds that....you didn’t say I can’t do this, you got out there and smashed run 2 👏🏻 at this stage your finding out what works best for you, you did exactly the right thing, slowed the running parts down to keep enough in the tank and focused on your breathing. It’s not easy, but it’s definitely worth it so stick with the programme 👍 a good running playlist helps too....I use The Rocky Story.....Eye of The Tiger etc, 🏃‍♂️🥊 great for running. Also if you want a good motivational video....check out the link to the YouTube one I use, in my Bed to 5k post......Good Luck
