Finally got out for R2…a bit of minor faffage lead to over a week passing by…😬
So today I went back to the River Walk…a good little 2 mile circuit…over a bridge, up one side of the river, over a second bridge, and back down the other side. It’s where I started C25k the first time, just over 3 years ago. 😊
So…warm up stretches in the car park, and off I go for my 5 minute warm up walk. The sun is shining, but it’s not too hot. There are leaves on the ground, but there’s plenty still on the trees. Later in the month, when the trees have their full autumn colours, it’s a truly lovely place to be.
5 minutes are up, time to run. I wonder if one of the reasons that people go too fast is the word “run” itself…it seems to have that automatic link with going fast…you run for a bus, you run if you’re late…instinctively you want to go fast when you “run”…
…so slow jogging is the way for me. Don’t get me wrong, I talk about running, and I’m a runner…but I do it slowly. Most of us here are doing this for fun, or health reasons…we’re not out to win races or be the next Paula Radcliffe or Mo Farrah. So enjoy the run…and slow down!
Today’s run is fine. Slightly aching inner thighs, which I remember from the first time around, is my only problem. Not really out of puff either. I have a longer walk back to the car as I don’t cover 2 miles in those first few weeks. Some long stretches and a drink…and I’m off food shopping!
Beatlesforever I’m here…where are you! 😉
Embrace your inner snail and enjoy 😊🏃🏻♀️🐌🍂🍁💙
