Lovely run yesterday in the cool, first thing

With all the recent heat in the UK, it was great to get out yesterday at 7am. It's a longer walk to this park but well worth it! Lots of dog walkers about, I guess before it got too hot x

That looks a beautiful place to run, especially before the day got too hot

Yes it is lovely there. There are quite a few water birds and the swans had 5 cygnets last spring and now they have 7 that are almost fully grown. Great to see more of them!

It’s so nice to have a place like that to run, especially through the seasons with different things flowering and different animals to spot. Running opens up so many wonderful experiences

Yes it is great to see the different seasons. We live in an urban environment and have other parks, one is nearer but more difficult to run around as it has a grade listed building on a moat and the steps are very uneven...I dare not risk a fall lol! We have often seen a heron there at dusk x

Falls are best avoided!! I had a trip to an and e last October after falling on a drain cover. Nothing broken but some nasty sprains of wrists and elbows. Sounds like you’re being super sensible avoiding running there. Herons are beautiful birds, especially if you catch them in flight.

Ouch very painful! Yes sprains are awful, I sprained my ankle a few years ago and it took ages to heal. We first saw a heron flying over houses nearby a few months ago and we could not believe it, as it is a top predator! Then on seeing one in the moat, it made sense. Plenty of fish and rodents for it to prey on.
