๐After two weeks of not running due to Trigeminal Neuralgia and the side effects of drugs I am back out there!! I feel as happy as that cartoon depicts! I tuned into Coach Coreyโs 5K plan for beginners on NRC and the first run is 20 min at an easy pace. After a 5 min warm up walk I slipped back into an easy, slow run! It was effortless, it was easy, it was fun! The feel good factor was there after the first few minutesโฆI was just so happy to be out in the cool fresh sea air, moving in a gentle ultra slow rhythmโฆ no music.. just Coach Corey popping in & out. I felt SO grateful walking back home. Today running gave me a gift ๐ JOYโฆ..
๐ Back again: ๐After two weeks of not running... - Couch to 5K
๐ Back again
Excellent news! So glad youโre feeling better enough to be running again โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
Oh my! Poor you!
Thank goodness you are feeling better and what a super run! You are so right... the pure joy of one foot in front of the other, after time out is priceless.
For me it is as you know, what it is all about... and wonderful that you are feeling that way too! x
Delighted to read this! So glad you are feeling well enough to get out there again ๐
Thatโs such great news! Sounds like a fabulous run ๐
Thatโs super news Annieapple. Iโm so pleased that youโre feeling better and that feeling of being able to get back out running after being poorly is indeed joyful go girl๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ ๐๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐx
Wonderful, just wonderful, to see you well again and back out there, that plan sounds worth a look at as I slowdown so can do continuous running
Thanks so much for those encouraging words. You take running for granted until you have to stop! Itโs a great plan Sue. I was more than halfway through it before and enjoying the variety of runs so decided to start again. Every run they give you a bit of time to just run without talk which I enjoy as well. ๐โโ๏ธ ๐๐โค๏ธ
I found the 5k plan for beginners but it's coach Bennett and the first run is 15 minutes, I am planning longer slower runs for a while so not for me, have fun with it ๐
Sue itโs not that plan! Itโs the 4 week plan. Starts with a 20min run with Coach Corey second run is 25 min
I found it under What to focus on this week with an introduction video from a female coach.
So glad you are feeling better. Trigeminal neuralgia is one of the worst pains. I'm glad you had such a good run. It's so good for the body and the soul. Take care and I hope you remain pain-free.
That's great news! Well done for getting back on track! X
Wonderful to hear that you are back out running again, keep the enjoyment coming ๐
So pleased to hear your news and that you feel better and r getting back out there xx
I got more pleasure from reading this than from my own running at the moment! This is EXACTLY the feeling I'm searching for, but things being as they are, it's just a case of going through the motions.
Sorry you've been in pain, but what a way to boost the mood!
๐ Some runs are struggles and some seasons of running just donโt bring the enjoyment we want. You have a lot on your plate at the moment & trying to push through C25K. Sometimes when our time is limited we tend to rush through the run to get it over with & get on with the next thing. Running a little slower purposely wonโt actually take much more timeโฆ see it as you timeโฆ time out.. maybe change your route.. your musicโฆ You are doing incredibly well sticking to the program & a new season will dawn when you feel as I do at the moment. Overcoming these harder times and challenges will contribute to a run that gives back the joy! It will come when you least expect it. ๐โโ๏ธ
Thank you for this. And you are so right: the stamina that running has given me has improved my health, but three year's of illness hasn't just gone away. I'm still trying to work with that, my back, shoulder, work, kids etc. The curve is upwards but it is exactly the "my" time that I struggle with - thinking that spirals into cramming stuff in to too little time and emotional space and means I skip writing / exercise / meditation because there's "real" stuff that needs to be done.
Even when running makes me as knackered as yesterday's short runs did, I still like what it does long term for me. I just need to give it (and me) time and space to breathe ...
How wonderful! And it's absolutely free xx
๐ค๐คฃ๐Exactly Maisie! Xx
Thatโs great news. Glad youโre feeling better ๐
That picture brought a smile to my face. Saved it for future reference. Good to hear you are feeling better! Everyone should be running happy.
