Just a quietly normal week

Not much to say this week. Got out on Monday for a 30 min run round the village. Wednesday decided it might be cooler on the treadmill in the garage - wrong!!! Did 40 mins though. Decided it would be too hot to do Park Run yesterday and didn't want to expire from heat exhaustion half way round so went out early and did a 33 minute NRC intervals run instead. I'm really into doing intervals now and am starting to feel stronger. Have been a bit despondent lately as I don't feel I'm getting any better. However after talking to a fellow 'older' running buddy this morning I realise I just have to accept that I came to running later in life, ie 10 months ago when I turned 69 so I can't expect to be as agile as if I'd started 50 years ago! Sometimes I just have to give myself a good talking to 😂 We're going away again on Thursday for 10 days so I'll try and get a few runs in whilst we're away and hopefully not have a fall and injure myself this time!!!

🍏 you certainly are keeping up your runs and pleased you have taken to the NRC intervals. They take running to another level and are lots of fun. That’s the important takeaway is that you are running and having fun doing it! It may take a bit longer to run for longer or to increase pace but if we are staying injury free and enjoying ourselves it’s a win win. Have a good time away and enjoy running somewhere different.

You are amazing, and who wants to go faster anyway? We slower runners get to see more as we go
