I did my first Parkrun in Hastings today

boy was it hot !!

the run was in Hastings which is a straight out and back and I scraped through with a 32.01

I got it all wrong as I set off far too fast , but managed to hang on to some pace but can see my 3k, 4K and 5k timing slipping away . Lots to learn

I am a product of the C25k programne and cannot thank it enough for giving me the ability physically and mentally to tackle a Parkrun

onwards and upwards

🍏 👏Wow that’s excellent timing for a first park run! Well done! It’s so hard when everyone roars off at a fast pace to run slowly at the beginning .. you did exceptionally well to get through it! X

Yay, that's a brilliant time for a first time. I think it's about as fast as I've ever done it (been a while but I was usually pootling along near the back). I predict a sub-30 in your future! 🔮Keep an eye out for Pacers, my local parkrun sometimes have them, (volunteers who try to set paces for particular finish times). If you keep them in your sights you don't go far wrong.
