Iā€™m worried about doing this today. Feels like a mountain to climb.

Trust the programme...have confidence in yourself...relax and let the new running legs just carry you.Slow and steady..

I shall watch for your post ! X

šŸ I can understand thatā€¦ many of us feared what looks like a big step upā€¦ you can definitely do this as every run from 1:1 until now has prepared you for thisā€¦ run it very slowly with a good playlist ā€¦ look around you, consciously relax your arms and shoulders, smile & enjoy itā€¦ go run, runner šŸƒā€ā™‚ļø šŸ˜Š

Take heart and confidence from the big mental hurdle that was W5R3 - *that* is normally the big one for a lot of people. You've done 20 minutes continuous last week - now you add on 5 mins after putting more miles and minutes into your legs this week.

Physically , you are ready. It's always the mental side that's the most difficult.

Take it nice and easy and you'll be absolutely fine !

Thanks all, it is done, very slowly. I wish I could say it was a breeze, but it wasnā€™t. Really hard but I didnā€™t stop. Dreading week 7 now šŸ˜¬

Please donā€™t dread it! This program is 50% a mental battle so start with ā€œI can do thisā€. The earlier runs have prepared you for this and thousands of us have proved it works. PMA required. Have fun.

Hi Ā Hamshanks68 , well done on completing week 6. You might find it helpful to read this post about mental attitude to running: healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

The other technique that I use on runs that feel challenging is to break them down mentally into ever-decreasing chunks. For 25 minutes you could use 11 + 7 + 4 + 2 + 1, for example. The actual breakdown doesn't matter as long as the total is correct and each chunk is shorter, or at least no longer, than the previous one.

Enjoy week 7!
