Week 1 Run 2
Well, (late in posting this but ...) yesterday evening at about 6pm I was itching to get out to do the next run! Dh came reluctantly with me ("bad tummy" π) but insisted he would "just walk" π
We had originally agreed to go today - but I looked at the weather and was so full of anticipation and determination so ...
Route No 1 for us (over the road in the man-made forest. See ?sideways photo).
Feeling a lot more confident, I managed Run 1 and Run 2 and about half of Run 3 ... kept breathing ... walked briskly for Run 4 ... then got a bit more determined and recovered and managed Run 5 and most of Run 6 and Run 7 ... but then just 'Brisked it Out' for rest of final Run.
Definitely felt like my breathing has progressed to the best it has ever been when trying to run. SarahM said I had Run for 8 mins - but I think I actually managed to run for about 5 ... probably the most I've ever done in my life!!!
Doing tiny paces like a π to start off ... but by the third Run feeling like I wanted to stretch my legs out a bit further?!
I'm feeling like I can do this: it's bringing me such JOY! - but not in any rush - don't mind how long I stay on Week 1 before I move on ... may try a different trainer for variety and motivation?!
When we got in I had pre-booked a webinar of neurodivergent meditation/yoga which was a lovely relaxing end to my Run. Timing was perfect but total fluke!
Today I again have a slight twingie toothache again in my left knee - but hoping it recovers in the next few rest days. (I remember now I had an old injury many decades ago from using my left foot to lift the double buggy [4 kids] from the road up on to the pavement many many times! I went to the gp at the time who explained to me there is a long tendon that passes over the knee cap diagonally??). I'm conscious of my foot placement when I run after reading a lot of you guys' posts. I do think I put the middle of my foot down first?!
Can imagine - and hoping - this learning curve will be a life long one. Wishing you all a lovely week guys π₯°
Such fun! xxxx
