Just done day 2 week 1. After getting a shock medical report, reduced kidney function and bmi too high, I have made a promise to myself to get back to a healthy bmi and protect my health and kidneys for the future. Feeling quite upset about it all but quietly determined to stuck with this. Need all the support I can get 😀

Hi AmltooOld. Welcome aboard!😂

Well you’ve certainly come to the right place. I think sometimes a shock to the system like that is a bit of a wake up call and a big chance to readjust your life style so to speak and that’s exactly what you are doing. I can understand you must be feeling quite upset but now I can also see that you’ve channeled your upset into doing something positive.

C25K will give you lots of confidence, strength and with your steely determination you will get back to being healthy very quickly and while your doing that you will meet loads of great people on this forum and all the other sister forums too.

Let’s not forget we all signed up to C25K for various reasons ,complete life style changes etc,and have made good kind friends along the way who want nothing but the best for each other offering help ,support and bags of encouragement. So please don’t stay upset too long and remember you have made the very first important move of this process…. You’ve got out and ran Bravo to you ! Your brilliant.

Enjoy your running experience. There will be highs and lows. However the highs always out weigh the lows eventually. Don’t forget once you’ve completed C25K you will graduate and be able to get your badge and join in the Graduates Club. Then there’s Bridge to 10k aswell as Marathon Running and Race Support which has a new name by the way….It’s now called Fun beyond 10K plus race support.

There’s also Strength&Flex and Active 10. So there’s plenty to look at and think about.just pop over and have a peep 👀 😂

Look forward to reading your posts👍😂😂👏👏.

Enjoy!

Well done for making a change and starting this journey!! You are never too old to improve your health …my advice would be start slowly with walking before moving on to C25k ..I found that diet and exercise combined is the way to go …Good luck and any advice just ask 🙏

Hello AmItooOld !!! You will be so chuffed that you have joined this wonderful forum/community! They are so welcoming and supportive - with a great sense of humour and loads of empathy too!

I've only been here a week myself and starting off v slow with a couple of weeks' of power walking before I actually go for it!

You've done amazing to jump straight in. I've been advised to take it as slow paced as you need - like a snail if you need to - and repeating a run as many times as you like. All the advice and encouragement here is amazing.

I look forward to sharing my experiences with you. Welcome! ❤️

😊
