Today achieved a small milestone (pun intended), by completing the above. Since graduating in November 2020, I’ve been fortunate enough to run in numerous places both in the UK and abroad (today was a sunrise road run in Franschhoek, South Africa). I’ve experimented with various routes and distances, and have now settled on a straight 7k (which takes on average 34 minutes). I now have four sets of running clothes to cover all seasons and fluctuate between Brooks Ghost 14 and Acis Gel-Cumulus 23 running shoes. I even have a set playlist of around 200 songs.
Which brings me to the point of this ramble - an appropriate track that came on this morning was Tom Misch and ‘Follow’ with the very apt lyric: -
‘Take the first step, and the rest will follow’
Believe me, for someone who dismissed running before discovering C25K, you only need a little self belief and a weekly routine, and the runs soon pile up.
So keep running everyone, wherever you run. 😊
