Consolidation Run #1 and Strava issue

I decided to follow the last run of W9 today, with Laura as coach. She has been my coach through most of this adventure, but occasionally the app would not let me use her audio, and Sod’s law wouldn’t let me use her for my graduation run.

I also did a new route as I’d got totally bored with the one I used for the final weeks of the plan.

All went well, other than Strava does not log the whole of my running time. It logs elapsed time (which is actually my full run time), but reduces it by 1 to 2 mins which it logs as moving time - I actually “move” the whole time!. It’s frustrating as I’m now running a bit longer to try to correct it. It’s happened a couple of times - any ideas anybody?

Enjoyed at though, and looking forward to the next one. Happy running folks 👍😁

These consolidation runs wenderwoo are just to keep you running or is there a program to run to lol

If you check out the following link it gives info on different options for consolidation:

I wonder if your Strava is sometimes struggling to pick up a decent GPS signal, then averages things out to compensate? You may just have run in a black spot today.

I ran a different route today - straying into adventurous territory, I better be careful 🤣!

Yes, I hadn’t thought of that, good point - thanks!

We need to be careful with all this adventurous stuff, next thing we’ll be enjoying ourselves, lol 🤣

Blummin heck, strava used to drive me insane with its lack of gps, it has me cutting corners, running on water, you name it, I’ve done it all according to strava!!! That’s why I am now a Garmin girl. It never fails..and it uploads to strava after every run. It does depend on your environment WW...if there are trees or tall buildings the signal can often be lost...it’s so disappointing, especially when you’ve had what you think is a cracking run!! Glad you enjoyed it though and at least you know what you’ve done even if strava says differently....well done x

....You e helped me decided...I’m definitely on the look out for a second Garmin now

How is Garmin different? I thought that also used GPS?

I was on the verge of buying a Samsung Galaxy Watch, but not being able to download Amazon Prime Music was a deal breaker. But of course that would also use GPS.

Does Garmin use something different as I need start re-thinking my options!

No ideas to help with the Techno gremlins but wonder if it isnt some "wheeze" to make you run further. No sorry - unhelpful. Glad you are getting out there and consolidating your running skills. Take care! :-)

Tech can be so annoying ☹️. Well done for getting out there as the weather is not great for motivation just now. Glad you enjoyed it and can sit back and cruise your consolidation runs! 👏👏👏

I don’t actually use Strava while running, just Garmin and it outputs the whole run to Strava ( and Nike Run Club) automatically after the run. I used to have tech issues when I used Fitbit and had to start everything up at the same time but not any more 🙂

I’m just using my fit bit. I get home and do ‘onthegomap’ it tells me my distance, fit bit gives my time. Sorted. I know I’m getting better!

Good shout! I re-ran wk9 run 3 about 4 times before I could finally break the apron strings.

Even now I still use the vocal markers on my RunKeeper app to keep me on the straight and narrow!
