Today was my first run since my injury and I did a very slow consolidation run. I’ve added 5 or so minutes onto my previous 5K time but I purposely ran in a comfort zone today. I cannot risk injury.
Though the run seemed a step backwards it is actually the first time I’ve completed 5K on my FitBit and I went over 5K as I forgot to turn the run cycle off at 5K. The run seemed to last forever and I kept the inclines to a minimum and elected to run a loop on the flat at the end instead of testing my hamstring on inclines. Too early for that. My left thigh felt a bit tight towards the end and I thought ‘No, not the other leg too’ but that was just rustiness from not running for 8 days.
REM and NRC’s Coach Bennett kept me company on this important run which I’m just delighted to have completed.
I’m back in business!
