Graduates Club - my C25K re-run

So the challenge was set, re-run your favourite run. Now that was a hard one, although looking back I realise that one of the most memorable was in W3 in March jogging through the the early morning virgin snow on the Tissington Trail. Wow the first footprints, unless you count the birds and other wild creatures who were up before me. However, I decided to go back even further to W1, which is the most significant because that's where the story started. Now I know you will think this is cheating slightly on the challenge, but instead of walk / run repeat, I did jog / speed up / jog. Now that was challenging, probably in the way W1 was challenging in the first pace. Garmin awarded me with my fastest 1k and fastest mile. But you know what, when I got back I felt great. Off to Juju's magic plan next and I'm definitely going to include speed training in it. I've just saved Coach Bennett's fartlek run which I'm planning for Tuesday. Happy running everyone πŸƒπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Fartlek is a REALLY weird word. I should look it up, but I'm just going to stick with weird ...

It's Swedish. It means speed play, so in running, it's mixing it up a bit taking you out of your comfort zone.

The Tissington Trail is such a lovely place to run! I’m envious-I used to live up that way but before I started running. One day I’ll go back with my kit!

Great re-run. It’s so good to look back and see how far you’ve come.

You might like to think about posting about your Fartlek over on Bridge to 10k (but no pressure-do what feels right for you at the moment). There are a lot of us using the Nike Run Club app over there and I’m sure many of us have done that run-I have! It’s a great one! My top tip is to run the faster sections slower than you think you might want to to start with. That will help you finish them feeling strong. Enjoy!!
