Finally managed my second run of week 1

I finally managed my second run. It was a bit unconventional but I did it. I have been getting up at 5AM to take Oscar for his walk but upon returning I was finding running in the warm temperature difficult so had not progressed since the first run.

I walked into town on Saturday and there is an alley that is lined with trees either side that was quite cool. It is not very long, only a couple of minutes to walk through but a nice relief out of the sun and I thought at the time that it is a pity it is not longer as I could run through there.

I got home and it then occurred to me that there is nothing in the rules that says I have to run and walk in a straight line! The alley is just over five minutes walk from my house, perfect for the warmup.

Sunday morning and with Oscar dropped off and me in my trainers, C25K app started, I set off for the alley. Perfect timing, my run started just after entering the alley. I ran my minute which ended a short distance from the end. I turned round and walked back!! My 90 second walk took me back to the beginning so I turned round and ran back again. Brilliant, I managed to get all the runs in by running and walking up and down the length of the alley. The start and finish points seemed to vary a bit but other than that it was brilliant, I was so pleased with myself, particularly after a 4 mile walk with Oscar.

Tomorrow I will give it another go.

Very well done... listening to your body and adapting to the conditions to run in! On you go!
