Hi everyone…I hope you’re all well and have been enjoying this beautiful weather we’ve been having, obviously not whilst running…but when you’re sat in the garden showing off your various runners tans lines 🤣….
I read AlMorr ’s post today about his graduation runniversary & it got me looking back on my posts over the last 6 years (yes, I really am part of the furniture on here!!!) …I’ve absolutely worn my heart on my sleeve on here..and I’ve had wonderful support from everyone over the years too..I have made lovely friendships…and lost some friends too 🥹…I’ve seen people come, felt joy when I’ve seen lives change & I've seen people go…and then maybe come back!!
this forum is the best place to come when you need a listening ear, advice or support…I really don’t think I would still be running if I hadn’t found this secret little running world!!!
I read my graduation post and it brought a tear to my eye as I remembered the feeling of graduation, it was one of the best feelings in the world and I could not wait to get on here and tell everyone all about it!! And everyone was so happy for me…just like we all are when someone graduates…you don’t realise what an impact words can have…
My last run saw me skulking home with my bottom lip on the floor because the ache I’d been feeling around my achilles for a couple of days before turn into something more than an ache during my run so I had to cut it short…I’ve had a bit of a weekend this week with a couple of music concerts so I think I must’ve danced it all better because it feels different today..so I’ll be, hopefully, up and out early tomorrow…
I read a lot of my old posts and they revealed what a wonderful, supportive place this is..where everyone is kind & that’s just how it should be…
feeling the love 💕
Imagine all the runners out there who aren’t part of this wonderful community?? Missing out or what??!!
Here’s my graduation post if you can be bothered reading it!!?!
Good post from you Mummycav, I have had a good day, I also read your post from 5 years ago and noted that I was first to congratulate you AND also noted that I ran my first 5K that day, thanks for the memorie✅👍
Ooooh Im filling up again re-reading those posts MC, remembering how excited we all felt for you and all you have been through. This forum is full of real people and real runners, we are so lucky to be part of such a friendly supportive community.
I have not been posting so much recently, but I do value the support and friendship of this running family and pop in each day.
Happy Runniversary to you, be careful with your ankle when you run.😚
Well done, I remember you arriving on the forum 6 years ago, I came on it in 2016 but didn't post much after about 2018. It seems like a previous existence now... Anyway, here I am, started running again and re-doing c25k. I completed week 4 today and am pretty pleased with myself. It's so nice to see names that I remember from back then.
I was thundered out yesterday.. muggy heat and thunderstorms and rain set in and we have had thunder and rain all night!
But, here now and a HUGE congratulations to you and a very, very HAPPY RUNNIVERSARY!!!!
You have has a real mix of highs, lows and everything in between! Work, the pandemic, family losses, and your wonderful children, keeping you on your toes, every minute of the day too !
But here you are still!
Giving back support now, to so, so many of our new and longstanding runners! You are right, these forums are, (hopefully), all about support, and friendship... and a common joy in our running. All running together.
I recall so, so many of your early runs and your posts... ! I read my own reply to you... and it echoed the hundred odd other replies you had that day... What I said then, I would say now...
I am so glad that the Achilles feels easier too... You need to head out for a celebration run !
I and we shall be watching for your post... Will it be around the park, where you ran so many of those early runs, or by the beautiful canal route...where ever it is, stay dry, stay safe, and run happy .
Thankyou Oldfloss …what fantastic support I had back then…and still to this day…and I’ve always been proud of the badge I wear today too…I will probably run a little bit of both, I can’t have a celebration run without including the ‘ Oldfloss bush can I?!!
And one day, I will head down to have a run with you…that’s def on my wish list! xx
Your post made me re-read all my posts from last year. So many memories and such camaraderie! I never gave up running but I got to the stage where it felt a struggle so I've now started C25K again and have just got back from W6R2. It's definitely pushing me more than I was pushing myself so all is good!
