Yay! Well done Biscuitbaker , that’s fantastic...it’s been a proper miserable day today in Yorkshire so I hope your weather for your graduation run was better...but who cares?! You’ve done it...and you’re amazing! Congratulations 😊
Yay!!! Congratulations Beginner416 ...that feeling will stay with you forever I’m sure! I remember punching the air when I finished, I couldn’t believe it!!! We’re all happy for you to 😉
Yay! Well done Trying2bfitter ...when I’m getting a bit tired on my runs I imagine myself dancing...I can stay on the dance floor all night so that must mean I can run for a long time right??!!
Thank you. It’s been unexpectedly fun. So pleased to have a viable alternative to the gym for these lockdown periods. Just struggling with the evenings drawing in and I’m not an early bird 😂
I finished week 9 yesterday. Super proud! The whole program has been amazing. I was a confirmed run hater but at 50 was starting to be concerned that I couldn’t keep up with my children anymore, the youngest one being only 10, and decided I needed free flexible exercise.
Doing the first 20 minute run was the best feeling, that was when I realised I would definitely finish.
2 things though, I have a permanently sore right ankle. Might that be a shoe thing? And I am still dog tired, going to bed tired, after every run. Will that improve?
Looking forward to building up to 5k.....very slowly!
I am sure that this will be one of the best decisions you’ve ever made...there’s nothing better than playing with the kids so that is a great motivator...
As for your ankles, I can only assume that it could possibly be your shoes...have you ever had a gait analysis? Not the easiest thing to be able to do at the current time with the way things are but properly fitted shoes will definitely help as it’s all about how you land...
As your stamina improves, which it definitely has done and will continue to do, you should find that the tiredness will get less and less....is it only since you’ve been running that you’re tired?
I have pinned your badge on for all to see...happy running Glorybound hope I’ve helped a little bit
You certainly can have a shiny badge Hidden ...it really is a good feeling isn’t it!? I remember punching the air after running for an unbelievable 30 mins! Those first few runs are hard aren’t they but then, something just clicks and you just know you’re going to succeed...well done to

Hello there, I completed three 30 minute runs yesterday, Saturday 21st November. Still so pleased I can run like that. Please may I have a graduate badge?.😀
Yay!!! Congratulations JoHola ...you certainly can have your well earned shiny badge 🥳😉
Hi! Im so pleased to say i have completed the 9 weeks. But i am a,way off 5k in 30 mins, so that is my goal now. But a graduation badge would be such a boost! Thank you all on the forum for the posts, it is so encouraging to read of all the other successes.
Woo hoo!!! Another happy graduate!! Do not worry yourself about the distance, the programme is to get you running for 30 mins, if you manage 5k in that time then that’s great , if you don’t, that’s also great, I’ve been running for 3 & a bit years now and I haven’t managed 5k in 30 mins, my fastest is 32 mins but even then I think my watch had a blip!!! But, guess what, I’m not bothered because I can run and I can run 5k & I can run 10k and everything in between...some runs are hard and some runs are easy....you can work on time etc after you’ve consolidated your runs but in the meantime welcome to the next part of your journey...now go and show off your shiny new badge 😉
Managed to finish W9 R3 yesterday. Not all plain sailing, minor foot injury in week 8 set me back a week or so. But, very happy to be running again after many many many years of being on the bench!! I've rediscovered that I was always a runner it was just parked whilst life got in the way. Onwards and upwards
Good for you NotGreg , throughout the programme there are hard runs, but I’m sure they’re there to test us and build up the resilience that’s needed to push ourselves that little bit more when it’s required and you have done just that!! Your badge has been here waiting for you so it’s yours to keep, well done
Hallo. Today I completed my final run🍾 Bought my self a graduation present- a new pair of running 👟 👟😁 . I definitely want to continue but motivation will be the hardest thing. If there is a shiny badge to be had that would be great , thank you.Happy running🏃🏻♀️
Super work Marvellousmaysie ...and what a great reward?! There’s nothing like a new pair of running shoes (who’d have thought it???!) I often find myself online with the good intention of shopping for bedding and other household stuff, you know, that kind of thing but then somehow, before I know it, I’m perusing the sports shops eyeing up new trainers or running gear!!!! I get so excited when it arrives!! You deserve your lovely reward and your new badge that is yours to keep and show off to all!! Congratulations 👏🏻 👏🏻
Fantastic Jacbo30 ...your badge has been here waiting for you all the time and now it’s my pleasure to secure it on so you can show it off for all to see 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Another graduate here... just finished W9R3. Technically, it was W17R3 as I completed W8R3 in mid-July but aggravated an existing knee injury that I hadn't received PT. Restarted the end of September and completed today.
Requesting the graduate badge. And wanted to say this is an overall great community you have here.
Haha, yes- all of those, thank you. Will defo check out the 'guide to what next' as I'm sure that I'll want to carry on running - I definitely want to carry on running
Hi, I completed W9R3 last night. It’s taken 24 weeks of injuries, holidays, repeated weeks but I’m proper proud to have finally finished...and with a flourish to boot. I carried on past 30 mins to complete the 5k in 33 mins. Now looking forward to making it to 10k. Onwards and upwards 🏃♂️😁
Hi! I did w9 r3 this evening and have only just discovered this wonderful forum when looking what to do next - gutted I didn’t find it sooner! Thank you
Hi, ran Week 9 run 3 on Wednesday and again today so definitely have graduated What a fabulous programme, it’s 35 years since I last ran for this length of time.
I signed in to see the word 'Graduate' and I'm still chuffed.
Have downloaded the podcasts but I think I'll just go out and run for a couple of weeks without Michael Jordan in my ears 😀. Will be doing two days a week as my body seems to prefer this. I've learnt a lot on this journey.
Unfortunately, I only achieved 3.23k in the 30 mins so have a long way to go yet. Still chuffed though that I have run for 30 minutes without stopping. Looking back to my very first run, it's amazing for me. I was always the sprinter at school, hated long distance.
I just finished my Week 9 Run 3 yesterday - whoop whoop!! More than the fitness improvement, I am amazed to have been able to stick at the program the whole time - even as the days got wetter and darker. Could I please have a badge to celebrate the achievement?!
Congratulations LizTheRunner , that’s fantastic work, well done for staying motivated on the cold darker days 👏🏻👏🏻 Your badge is securely in place so you can show it off with pride
Fantastic work..you deserve your well earned badge that I must say suits you!! Congratulations to you!! Check out my consolidation club post for December where you can speak to other new graduates about your journey...what’s next etc
