Week 7 run 2 feeling more positive!

Got up and out around 7am, beautiful sunny morning, but still nice and cool mostly. Did do a bit of shade hopping!

This run came after taking 4 days off, letting the hip pain ease off, and fighting a niggling feeling I couldn’t do these runs. Found some stretches online for IT band issues and some for hip abductor/flexor, seeing as I’m not sure what exactly was causing the discomfort after my last few runs and pain during my last run.

Anyway good news is this morning’s run was pain free and I kept it nice and slow! Did about 4k in the 35 mins, with 25 min of running.

What a difference a change of running time (pm to am) change of route and change of music made!!! I think I needed that. I’d started to fear these longer runs, and doubt myself. And today felt great and the belief is back!

I returned and made a conscious effort to make sure I did some proper stretching and miraculously my body feels fine so far today. I know there will be ups and downs, but today I really enjoyed my run! Soaked up all the scenery, didn’t obsess over distance or times, just felt more in the moment.

Thanks for all the advice earlier in the week!

well if this isn’t a case of ‘listen to your body ‘ I don’t know what is!!! Excellent…you did everything right and your run sounds just perfect, like your start to the day…I love running early morning, coolest part of the day in every sense!!

I boiled yesterday but I was plodding in the woods for most of the run. Once on the exposed bit, which was dry and dusty like a desert, I felt the heat so walked for a while, before running on after getting my breath back. Great to be out in the sunshine in me shorts 😁

Once home I pulled my shoes and socks off and sank gingerly into my outdoor bath 🥶😁🛀. Lovely jubbly

Yes had an intervention with myself over being a Wally earlier in the week! 🤣😂

You’re right, a bit of sun definitely helps us feel a bit better. ☺️☀️
