Last time I went “running” was over 30 years ago - stopped after finding out I was pregnant with my twin boys … several years later and I’ve taken up other sports in particular cycling both outdoor and indoor virtual (Zwift). The most running I ever did was running for a bus which was about the most I could do without getting black eyes !!!!

However after retirement coincided with lockdown, my weight gain was considerably more than my 1.55m frame could carry and with the big 60 looming I decided to lose 60lb before the birthday - I smashed it losing 85lb with diet ( calorie counting) and cycling. So with less weight to carry around I downloaded the C25k app, but that’s as far as it went. Until 9 weeks ago ….

OMG I am so pleased with myself , I cannot believe that I can run non stop for 30 minutes . I have the week 9 run 3 to complete but I have every confidence that I can do it .

Just wanted to let the newbies know that the programme works and the support, hints and tips (like different ways to fasten shoelaces in my case to stop heel slipping) that this forum gives has been very helpful.

I’ll apply for my graduation “badge” when I’ve done my last run of the programme , but then the hard work continues to consolidate my running into my day to day routine.

Thank you 😊
