W1 R3 Completed. So proud of myself

Hi all and hi to myself.

So proud for what I’ve achieved today. Completed my first week Run to 5k finally, without any injures.

It’s been a tough year.

Stopped drinking in January. Stopped fast food in February. Stopped gluten, milk and sugar in March. Stopped smoking in April.

Started running finally. Wasn’t easy. I knew I had to pace myself because every time I tried previously I’ve got injured.

This time everything seems different. Maybe I’ve learnt my lessons finally and maybe this time it’s time.

All I want it’s to be able to run and enjoy myself doing it so. I’m sure it will be a great journey. I say thanks to my body for taking me this far.

Good running to all.

J

Congratulations to you Jorgging on completing run 3 of week 1 of C25K, onwards and upwards to week 2 after one or two days off, well done on stopping smoking and drinking this year, I have never smoked and only drink wine when my relatives invite me on Christmas Day and New Year's Day celebrations, as for junk food, well I can't say I have stopped that altogether, I do have fish and chips at least once a week.

Thanks mate!!

I started the whole thing because felt my body has endured a lot of pain over the years. Thought was time to treat myself better.

The stopping of junk food and alcohol was more to do with planning on stop smoking and it seems to have worked. “At the moment”

Of course I’d love a glass of wine one an a while. My family produces a very lovely red in Spain.

Thanks for your reply :-)

Thanks for writing:-)

I see it differently. I didn’t gave up anything. I just stopped. Looking it this way doesn’t sound that awful. It’s like taking control of your actions. I dunno, I read it somewhere and it feels right.

Thank you for your words

Slow and steady as you move into Week 6... it does have the potential to upend some folk after the runs of Week 5.

Feel proud, stay strong, remembering also maybe, to stay kind to yourself in the process. Enjoyment is paramount.

A huge well done to you...taking responsibility for your life, does indeed, show you how powerful you are.
