Proud of myself

In November 2016 my orthopaedic consultant told me that I was unlikely to ever get any better even if he operated and that he would support me in applying for a blue badge. I couldn’t walk more that a few yards with the help of a stick at the time. LOOK AT ME NOW!!! I’m 58. Never run in my life before and just graduated the C25K!! I’m so proud of myself. After over 10 years of back problems (6 months of them in a wheelchair) I feel fit and healthy. I’ve booked on a 5k run in August and hope I’ll will have increased my speed by then from 4K to 5K in 30 minutes. Fabulous app. 🏃🏿‍♀️

Delighted for you! I’ve had 30 years of back pain, and this is the best I’ve felt! We should have done this years ago. Well done on overcoming any fears you had and meeting the challenge head on! Keep on running! 👏🏅🍾

Brilliant! I too suffer from back problems, had x-rays, MRI scans, loads of physio and chiropractor visits which didn’t really cure but since I’ve been running it’s helped massively. Still suffer but nowhere near as bad as it was.

Herbert!!! You wonderful graduate! How fantastic to hear of your recovery 👏👏👏👏 I’ve been told similar for an arthritic hip, and my friends have expressed well-meaning reservations too - I’ve not had it as bad as you but it does make me wonder whether I’ve done the right thing as running is so notorious for joints. But things have changed over the years and I am a complete convert. A very happy congratulations for winning this battle - so pleased for you! 👏👏👏🎓🎓🎓🍾🍾🍾
