Hello my name is Teresa and I have started my running journey today. Feeling a bit nervous as I found it hard but hopefully I will get better and feel better as my journey continues.

We all started out that way Muslie; keep it slow and you will be fine. Great time of year to start 🌞

Congratulations to you Teresa on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1 and welcome to the forum, take all the runs slowly, no need to be nervous,, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, if you wish report back here on your progress, good luck for your running journey with C25K, onwards and upwards 🏃🏾

Keep posting your runs, your successes and any little setbacks too ( if there are any). Take it slow, take it steady, and above all ?

Enjoy! x

I had three starts before it "took".

Getting off the couch is the hardest step.

The journey is about 20% physical and 80% mental. Many people don't believe they can do it, but they can and do. Getting beyond the self doubt and the feeling of it being a chore, to the feeling that you can do it, and then into starting to enjoy the activity takes a few weeks.

For me, something "clicked" in week 3. It went from being something I "had to do" to something I wanted to do.

Well done on making the start on an amazing running programme, you’ll get through it like we all have with lots of great advice and support on here. My best piece of advice I got was to keep it slow and steady - it works! Good luck 😉

Hi Teresa,

Well done on starting! You’ll do great. It’s tough at the beginning, but take things slow and there’s the option to repeat a week or a run, whatever suits you. It’s amazing how the body gets used to running during the plan. Goodluck 😀

Welcome and really well done! I have just done Run 3 of week 5 today - 20 minutes! But I can assure you that what you have done is much, much harder. That first minute was tough - physically and emotionally. You should be really proud of yourself! 🙌

There will be days when it doesn’t quite work out as you planned but the days that are great running days clearly out number the ones that don’t work out for what ever reason. The important thing is enjoy your journey, glean as much advice from everyone here and have a great time.

Everyone here is so welcoming, non judgmental and most of all very kind and only ever want the best for each other……so welcome aboard👏👏🏃‍♀️👍🥰.

Look forward to reading your posts.

It is always hard at the beginning and it continues to be challenging but, and it’s a big but, you will start to enjoy the challenge and the feeling of accomplishment you’ll get when you complete each run. Well done for starting and good luck with your running ‘journey’ 😊
