Another of the weird things around Cambridge. Not too far from the centre of town, but a distance that has been beyond me for a year or so...such an odd place!
Not the best run I've ever had, I got soaked to the skin during a cloudburst, but I was so happy to see this again.
Is that at Cherry Hinton? I’ve never been! Don’t people swim there?
No there's no water here, I think you're thinking of the old Quarries, along Cherry Hinton Brook. This is the Lime pit, on Lime Kiln Lane, the other side of Cherry Hinton Hall
I've circled the quarries in red (they are on private land, and people shouldn't swim, they're very deep and not patrolled or anything)
The chalk pits are in green and well worth a visit.

It looks remarkably similar to Bletchwort quarry - afair near Leatherhead? - where some scenes for "Blakes 7" were filmed! 
Great to see this - the only 'hilly bit' in Cambridge! I grew up mainly in Cherry Hinton and was at school the other side of Lime Kiln Hill. The boys did cross country runs up there & the girls got the flatter option over Cherry Hinton Hall. No wonder I'm allergic to hills ...🤣
