Learn from my experience - don't go running after eating fish and chips

I ate at about 12:30 and went for a run at about half past 3, thought I would be fine. On my 25 minute run I had a stitch for about 23 of them.

Oh well, live and learn!

Wrong way round Fiadh79, you should have gone that 25 minutes run BEFORE you had that fish supper, after the run then you should have had it and enjoyed the fish and chips even better, just part of the learning process, I am sure you won't do that again, I hope you will recover from those stitches very soon.

Yes, I'll need to plan better next time!

Still the food was delicious, and at least I did the run.

Think we've all been there! One tip I read on here when I was doing C25K was to consciously slow down and breath slowly and deeply when struggling with stitch -it seems to work for me-but cannot override "pre run fish n chip "stitch!

Yeah, not really struggled with a stitch before. Slow deep breaths did help, but only to a point!

I almost puked in a hedge after running too soon after a cheese and onion pasty. I think it’s a rite of passage!!

That's something most of us have done, it was roast dinner at work once for me, lots of, no I'm not eating today was followed by popping a bit of this that and a couple roast potatoes in my mouth as I cleared up, an hour later big stitch, but we learn what works for us
