Almost there... Couch2 5k!

Back in January I signed up for a 5k run which is this Sunday! I had 2 hip replacements in 2019 and hadn't run a step since then. The first runs were horrid, my legs felt like cement weights. Now I'm doing 30 min runs, only to find out on the track today that I only did 2 miles in 30 min! Not sure where the energy I will need to do the 3 miles will come from, but I'll be out there trying on Sunday. It's a benefit for Stanford's Center for Inherited Cardiovascular Disease, and my niece has just been appointed the director. She will be running with me ๐Ÿ˜€

Just do that run and totally enjoy it. That is what it is about and raising money too! Just super!

AS you know on here there is no need to run the 5K in 30 minutes... and as for finding the strength to do that extra mile.. relax... take it slowly and steadily, try not to start off too quickly and just maintain a comfortable pace...

I felt exactly as you did before a 10K I did a few Sunday's back, and I , with a friend from here, jeffed it, together:) I had never done that before but it was fine for me that day :)

You are going to have a great time and should be so proud of the fact that you are running it! x
