So pleased with ourselves!

So, January 2022 we bought all the gear for running in the sale but my friend and I kept putting it off and putting it off! New year resolution for 2023 was to finally start couch 2 5k. Our first week 1 run was ice on the ground, dark and raining sideways. We did it but we’re completely exhausted even getting to the minute. We said if we can run in that we can run in anything so we have kept going always with a bit of doubt that we could actually do the next run. Well, just now we are back from week 5 run 3 and completely smashed it! Was not even that tired could have gone on but didn’t want to break the programme which has guided us well so far. The finish line is in sight now! Can’t believe a couple of 40 something women who have not done anything since school have achieved this! So proud of us! Feeling so much fitter already! And dare I say it actually starting to enjoy running ?!

This is absolutely brilliant! Congratulations to you and your friend. Finishing feeling like you could go on and on is exactly how you want to run that run. You positively nailed it! That’s the best run in the whole programme and I bet you’ll smile for days.

How are you celebrating?

It’s worth knowing that week 6 sometimes catches people out a bit with the walking interval breaking up the run rhythm. Just channel a steady pace and you’ll be celebrating again before you know it.

Great and you are right to feel proud 😬👍And good to hear you are sticking to the program , it works !

Take your time with week 6 runs 1 and 2 as they often catch people out with going back to intervals!

you were right week 6 is so hard in comparison really. Don’t like the stops and starts! Run 3 tomorrow I’ll see how it goes haha! X

How awesome you both are!! I think a big part of running is going out in all weather conditions and that run where it was tough spurred you on. Keep going and enjoying the fact you are both runners!!The plan is ace and gives you such a brilliant platform and then springboard forward. Best wishes 😊
