Loved my run today, mostly due to work stress I couldn’t wait to get out!!
Decided on a new route, no idea about the distance but was a loop back to the house and as I was still working, I decided to go for it! Turned out to be 4.5k, 1.5 of which was al uphill, which I struggled through (heart rate soaring to 176bpm) but I managed it and right back to front door, watch said 4.5k!!!
Can’t believe I am running this distance now, would never, ever have thought I could run this distance.
Am on a huge high!!! Yay!! 😊🙌🏻

Woop woop! Fantastic Sussex, sounds like a perfect circuit! And 1.5k of hill?! 🤩 You’re smashing it. I still dare not take on the mole hills around my way!
I know the feeling . At least with every uphill usually a downhill follows. Keep up the great work. I am really enjoying your posts, always very entertaining.
Well done you, that’s amazing! I do a 20 min warm up walk to the highest point in my village and zig zag home down hill. I’m on week 8 and gonna try some hills now for endurance. You’ve inspired me it’s possible, thanks and congrats, excellent pace also. Enjoy the high 🎉
Honestly, hills were my nemesis; I used to do the same as you, walk the uphills and do my runs slightly downhill most of the time but I ran out of downhills so took the plunge of a hill I think during wk5 or 6. I just go very very slowly up the hill, then next time try a little more pace but honestly I’m very slow going upwards! I then rocket 🚀 down the hill to catch up with my distance. Wishing you luck with the hills, keep me posted!!
Thanks for the advice, I’ll try some hills tom on new route for week 8, I’ll keep you posted, like you say after the uphill is a down hill 🏃🏽♀️Yay, them I like lol
Great to read your happiness and enthusiasm - so many C25K-ers (?!?) have such wonderful stories; I'll be honest, best thing I've done for years - couldn't 'run' 10 steps 6 months ago; doing a 10k every month now and just loving it. We all have our challenges too so wishing you every continued happiness and enjoyment on your journey! Happy day!😉
Oh wow, that is truly amazing and so inspiring! I also couldn’t run downhill 10 metres to catch a bus before I took on this challenge. And those early walks/runs left me stiff and sore but how amazing is our body that is can repair and recover and get us onward to further distances. I’d love to be able to do 10k, would love more to do a half marathon one day, who knows. And it’s sooo good for stress.
