Hi Jolem , you could read this article as a starting point: runnersworld.com/uk/health/...
Thank you so much for the Jeffing info it’s really appreciated. I’ll always feel like I’m letting myself down if it walk a bit but it makes sense if it’s done in a planned way and has positive outcomes 🙏😀
Absolutely, it’s the correct approach in my opinion. I only wish I’d known about it at the start of my journey. It can be very disheartening if you have the “well I’ve walked therefore I have failed” mentality, when in fact what you’ve done is perfectly normal, especially on hills in the early days too.
I've never Jeffed properly as I don't find it helpful. However, as someone who loves running hills and trails, I'll walk when it's more energy-efficient or safer. That's usually on steeper uphills or downhills, or where the surface isn't runnable. Sometimes it's the only way to get round!
Jeffing is proper running - a method developed by Olympian Jeff Galloway. There is more about it here girlsthatjeff.co.uk/blogs/n... is also a Facebook group "Girls that Jeff" that has lots of pinned posts about how to work out your run:walk ratios. Really useful!
All info can be found on Jeff Galloway’s website including ideas how to do it right.
