It's a still, quiet day in the far West of Cornwall for Tim's Run - after days of wind and rain. I can hear the stream gushing in the valley below the garden (where I do most of my running) and the sea roaring in the distance. Each circuit of my wildish garden is 290m. It's up and down with tree roots and rabbit holes. I run with no gadgets just my non-digital watch. Today the blackbirds are scuffling amongst the fallen apples and the jays are squawking in the oak trees after the last of the acorns. A few camellias are flowering and the daffodils are already pushing through the soil. I run 5 circuits clockwise and 5 anticlockwise - and then another and another until I've reached 17. I've run for 38 mins. It's around the 2nd anniversary of completing 5k and my graduation message from Tim exhorting me to "keep running, keep smiling". I am.
