Morning and happy Monday. If anyone is having doubts, don’t listen to them. My partner told me it’s your brain telling you you can’t do more than 3.5k so today I graduated and then just kept running and before I knew it I was up to 6.2k! 9weeks ago I couldn’t run for more than a minute. Thank you for all the support on this forum it’s an amazing app that I tell EVERYONE about!

Congratulations on your graduation! That’s superb and a massive achievement! How are you going to celebrate?

Just a minor note of warning…it looks like you ran for quite a lot more than 30 minutes. It’s really easy to pick up an injury by going too far too early. You really don’t want that to happen after everything you’ve worked so hard to achieve. Let your body consolidate first to reduce your chance of injury. It’s best to stick to 30 minutes maximum running time for the next three weeks (or longer if you’re not totally comfortable running for that long by then). I totally get getting over excited and going further though!

Really well done graduate! 👩‍🎓

Thank you. Yes I realise that after reading some posts but I was just amazed how much longer I could go for. Noted though - I will stick to 30 mins for the next month. Don’t want to injure myself 😬

Excellent! I think most of us have had a run where we’ve done a bit of a cheeky extension. It takes so much willpower to stop when it feels good, but that’s a much better decision than being forced to stop because we’ve hurt something!

Go get your badge! You’ve earned it 🏃‍♀️ 🎉 🏅

Many congratulations on your graduation, fellow runner.

You have done brilliantly but you need to continue slow and steady progress or all that enthusiasm can land you on the injury couch for days, weeks or even months.

Brillant 🤩. I wanted to suggest to your last post when you finish run on a bit, but every journey is unique so refrained. You did it anyway! So I will make a suggestion now. Parkrun! Every run is a buzz and you join a host of people with unique journeys.

Pleasure, I’m so glad it inspires you although I shouldn’t have run that long - it was risky. Done a full week of 30 mins everyday and my pace is definitely getting better. Patience…something I find hard. Good luck, keep going, don’t stop running 🏃🏽‍♀️ 😁😁😁

Yeah, got my trainers - new leggings are next. Still out running 3 times this week but sticking to 30 mins. I just get itchy feet after a day or 2 now!! 😂

I’ve got those - foam fresh new balance - so comfortable - mine were a present to myself for completing the ct5k programme too 👍🏻 Bright orange 🙈

I love them! At least you’ll get seen in the dark on those dark mornings and evenings 😀👍🏻

I won’t wear them when it’s been raining though 🙈 don’t want them getting wrecked so wear my old new balance 😂

Good idea - I’ll wear my old Aisics for that too, although mine are about 15 years old! 🙏
