I really REALLY wasn’t in the mood to go running this evening. I’d been in my pjs and a comfy fleece all day while at work, finished late, so only had dinner around 7.30pm. Obviously I then had to wait a while to let my dinner settle, then as I was finally getting ready to go realised my headphones weren’t on the bookcase by the door. Child 1 admitted to having borrowed them earlier, but ‘gave them back to me’ as soon as she got home - by putting them down on a pile of random stuff just inside my garden office 🙄
And of course as I retrieved them I remembered that I wanted to get my nicer headphones and running light out of the cupboard in the other half of the office, so mountaineered over an exercise bike, drawer unit, and pair of dining chairs to get to them 😂
Eventually I had to stop procrastinating though, and headed out. Oh boy the first three runs were tight. None of my leg joints felt as though they had any movement in them at all, and I must have looked like the stereotypical image of a ninety year old man shuffling along (I’m a 48-yr-old woman!). But by run 4 things we’re feeling slightly better, and I made it through the whole lot again - with words of encouragement from friends on here keeping me going at times!
My knees aren’t entirely convinced this running thing is a good plan, and I’m half wondering about doing week 1 a third time, but think I’ll try moving on after one more session…
