Can't Believe It's Been This Long...

Hi All,

I doubt any of you lovely people remember me as it's been 9 YEARS since I joined and over 8 years since I graduated.

Just wanted to pop on here to say I've bought another treadmill and have started C25k again at the grand old age of 39.

I've found the last few years quite difficult (for a variety of reasons) but I've decided that time waits for no (wo)man and now I want to try to get a bit fitter before my 40th birthday next May.

So far I've managed to do Runs 1 and 2 of Week 3 (I jumped straight in at Wk 3, just to see how I get on) but I'm going to take it slow and make sure I repeat weeks if I need to. This time I'm listening to Jo Whiley (I do miss Lovely Laura a bit though) and so far, it's been ok.

Obviously I need to be mindful that it's been a long time since I did this and some new aches and pains may pop up - I'm not as young as I was haha

Thanks for reading xx Jana

Welcome back to the forum and well done on restarting.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5....

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

As a graduate you may find browsing through the other FAQ Posts useful too healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Enjoy your journey.

Welcome back Jana83, you must have been one of the first people on this forum, very good that you have started C25K for a second time, do you recognise any names on the forum from 8 years ago? Oldfloss, Irish John and Irishprincess are among the longest people on this forum, I joined this forum in September 2017, ran run 1 of week 1 in April 2018 and graduated in June 2018.

Hi there - apparently I joined in May 2013. I can't say any of those names stick out, but my memory is dire.

It’s never too late to restart - and at 39 you’re but a spring chicken! 😄

I joined the forum in October 2012 apparently - just imagine how many miles I’d have done if I’d kept running ever since then! But I’m back again too, and am on week 1 with Lovely Laura. I can’t imagine doing this without her 😄

Hi there - apparently I joined in May 2013. My biggest regret is not keeping up with the running - I'd probably be a certified, road running, trail conquering athlete if I had kept it up haha
